Hi, im new to the forum only found it today :-). Im booked in to have a gastric band at the Nuffield in Taunton in 10 days, mixed emotions.....but looking forward to the future.
On my pre op diet and loosing weight but suffering awful headaches :-(.
If you don't mind me asking what kind of after care package are you getting with nuffield?
Im 3 weeks post op band, and i had terrible headaches too!
I was nervous about it all too, and nearly chickened out the day of the op.
So glad i didnt. Wish id done it years ago.

hi, I found that as soon as I gave up bread on the first few days into the pre op diet, I got headaches. They only lasted about 2/3 days and I was fine after that. I'm now nearly 4 weeks post op.

Hi im getting 3 years fills inclusive of priceand i get 6months for problems with the band. I can take out a warranty for £1000 which covers any problems with the band for a further 18months. Hope that helps

What pre op diet are you doing?
Im doing 1slice of bread or half a pitta bread or half a bagel with small piece of chicken or ham with salad or choice of vegetables. Im also allowed 2bits of fruit. Drinking over 2ltrs a day which i thought would help :-)
Dory79....Had mine done at the Nuffield Taunton 6days ago and I can say they were all totally amazing there.
Maybe you need to drink more water if you are getting headaches..only a suggestion :-)

For 2 weeks before the op I was only allowed semi skimmed milk and water and no food at all!
Keep up the good work as it will be worth it in the end! X
That's good to hear, did they put a full in at time of installation? I'm going to try drinking more, nearly on 3ltrs today 😀. Lots of toilet visits lol x
I couldn't do that!! Haven't drink milk since I was 6 months 😳😁. Hope your enjoying what food you can now x

No they didnt do a fill at the installation. That comes later:-)
That's good I've heard sometimes they put a smal amount in, I'm kinda hoping the don't.

I have to say im feeling heaps better than i thought i would which has surprised me :-)
I didnt suffer with the trapped wind as some have which was a relief, but I did start walking about as soon as I got back to my room after surgery.
with the two weeks pre op diet and my first week with the band I have lost 12lb altogether so far.
No probs about the questions. I have been glad to come on here myself for help. x

It's one week today since my op and I am feeling really good... Only have shoulder pain after eating now but it's minimal!
Wounds all healing nicely and only twinge when I bend or roll over too quick!
How many incisions do you have? I have 4! X
