Hi All I know that most people post on here when they're at their worst, but I wanted to share where I'm at 8 weeks down the line. * I had a Botox & fissurectomy procedure on 27-Nov last year * Weeks 1-2 were fairly challenging pain-wise * Weeks 3-4 were less painful, but nevertheless my mobility was still quite limited. I started working from home 14 days after the procedure - it would have been completely impossible to commute, and more importantly it felt vital to keep everything scrupulously clean , which is impractical away from the house. * I saw the CRS for a check-up at 3 weeks, and he was quite disappointed that fissure wasn't healing as expected. He recommended regular use of Sudocrem and also prescribed Diltiazem to try and kick-start the healing some more. * I went back to work full time at 5 weeks. * I saw the CRS again after at 6 weeks. I explained that whilst the pain was generally getting better, I could still feel that something "wasn't right" and tender. He confirmed that whilst the fissure was not as deep as 3 weeks earlier, it was still stubbornly not properly healing as he would have expected by this stage. He asked if I would like to be discharged or come back after a further 6 weeks to review the situation. I opted for the latter. * I'm not at 8 weeks and feel that things are slowly continuing to improve, but am remaining diligent about diet, fluids and cleanliness. I've got back on my motorbike but don't yet fancy a bike saddle! So in summary, I'm not out of the woods yet and things could always go backwards; however I'm hopeful for the future.
