Damn man, This pain is a killer, Its like Im giving birth to a baby from my anus. Or passing a 3 kilo kidney stone. Really glad to know it has nothing to do with my prostate.

I'm a 27 year old female living in the UK. I've had this pain on and off since I was 21. I went to see a consultant today, who after five minutes of listening to my symptoms told me what it was. It's such a relief to know!!!! He has prescribed me some GTN spray to use if I get another attack. Have you been prescribed a remedy? I'm glad that now we both know!!

Its called Glyceryl Trinitrate and its available as a spray or tablet, its a blood vessel dilator (mostly used by patients with certain heart conditions). Anyway heres a general leaflet about Nitrates
