BPH NightTime Body Alarm-Tells Me To Go

Hello-  I have had BPH for about 5 years.  I'm 68, have 1.11 PSA, had the fun digital exam for which the urologist  prescribed oyxbutynin for my 5 trips to urinate each night. I have type 2 diabettes(heredity-not weight or diet)  The urologist said he thought allmy problems were due to the diabetes.

Finally, finally-my question to anyone.  I told the urologist that my wake up alarm to go pee is really unpleasant dry mouth & if I don't get up immediately-a tea shirt soaked with sweat!  I hardly sweat at all as a rule but the board certified urologist said he had never heard of such a thing!

Has anyone else??!!!   Or am I the first person in the world to exhibit such a symptom???!!!!  Also-I should add-I have been taking tamsulosin & finasteride(as presribed by my regula doctor for about a year.

My first visit raised more questions than answers.  My unease is caused by the sweats & dry mouth and that the urologist had never heard of such a thing!

you will sweat if you go into retention ( I know I did ) you could be having a reaction to the meds.

kind regards

Howard.

PS. I hope you get sorted ok.

I do get night sweats and wake up soaked, not every night but periodically . I have never told my doctors about it, just figured it was something I did.

Your sweatting may very well be due to testosterone deficancy syndrome made worse of course by Finasteride. The use of finasteride for BPH remains contraversial. My inclination would be to discontinue it and to consider Testosterone Replacement Therapy.Finasteride is supposed to shrink prostate volume by abour 20%. But if it does it does so a a considerable cost to your quality of life.
