Breast Lump Found - Panicking

Thx for the reply, I just replied to to Deb's post as well. Did the ultrasound tech tell you the news or did you have to wait for your doctor?

oops I meant littlelis's post...

Hi Pam when I went to the clinic I had to have a mammagram first and then was called to have an ultrasound, it was during this exam that she confirmed confirmed and drained the cyst and also did the biopsy on my other lump, I had to go back a week later for the results.

So during your ultrasound they couldn't see anything?

Did you also have a mammagram?

I didn't have a mammogram, I just had one in April and all was clear. This ultrasound was done at a clinic not a hospital, so they just do the procedure & then you have to go to your doctors for the results after the radiologist looks over the ultrasound (he didn't do it a tech does it) the tech wouldn't tell me anything, when I asked, she said she isn't aloud & that even a radiologist can't say anything, results have to be given by my doctor.

Oh ok so I'm assuming it was an actual breast clinic?

I went to a clinic when I had my first lump, had ultrasound only and they confirmed there and then that it was a cyst and they aspirated it, the second time around (NHS) the cyst was spotted straight away (ultrasound) but as soon as she saw the other lump it was all systems go, a nurse rushing over to distract me while the radiographer was sorting out needles etc (didn't see that one coming!!) so I'd take it as a good sign that they didn't have to do anything.

I know it must be difficult coming away with no information but if this is an actual breast clinic then I'm pretty sure had they seen something suspicious or a cyst etc, they would have told you and done a biopsy if necessary.

Keep me posted and if you want to chat then I'm here xx

No it wasn't a breast clinic. Just a clinic like a medical centre where they do X-rays, Ultrasound, Lab blood test & sorts. I go there just for the procedure and the results are sent to my doctor. There is no physician on site so they are legally not aloud to give results (I'm in Canada) Sorry for the confussion littlelis rolleyes
