Breathing difficulties after choking incident

Hi folks. I am a male, early 20’s, asthmatic, but with very rare asthma attacks and very physically active. I hope you guys can help me with what I am dealing with and I am sorry for the long wall of text.
Everything started in mid February of this year after I was put in a choke hold while me and a friend were wrestling for fun ( quite stupid, I know). For the two days following this incident I felt discomfort swallowing and a shortness of breath relieved by coughing.
I went to the ER the third day and the doctor examined my neck and throat and he told me that I have no damage to my neck, but that I am catching a upper respiratory tract infection.
After a week, I went to see a Dr again due to the fact that although the discomfort swallowing was gone, I still had shortness of breath and I also found out that short bursts of running left me breathless and I had pain in the right side of my chest. The Dr checked my oxygen levels which were normal, he also ordered a chest x-ray, Ekg, and a complete blood test. The results came back from these tests and the Dr said my lungs and blood work were all good. My ekg showed an abnormality, but after a holter monitor test and a ultrasound, the Dr said my heart function was fine. A stress echo was also ordered, but it was postponed because of the Coronavirus.
As of now, I still have breathing problems, I have no difficulty breathing while I am sleeping, and I no longer have the breathlessness ( I can exercise as usual). I have a constant feeling of thick phlegm in the back of my throat (which is not improved by steam or medicine like Robittussin). If I try to breath using my diaphragm deep into my lungs, I can breathe easily, but If I breathe normally, I feel like my breath is stopped half way.
I would really appreciate any advice from someone who might have or had similar symptoms or went through something similar. I just want to get back to living without worrying about getting enough oxygen all the time.
