Breathing difficulties

Hey guys and girls, was just wondering if anyone else sufferes from breathing issues 24/7 like not being able to breath properly, shortness of breath, cant get a full breath and other things like that.. i have been suffering with this symptom every day for over a year aswell as many others.. i have had lung function tests and xrays and ct scans and ekg/ecg and stress test which are all normal. Any help would be great! Cheers

Yes!!!!Lol, I have to laugh because I was going to post this earlier. It like if I don't force myself to breathe it's not going to happen and inhaling is easier than exhaling if that make sense. I'm constantly feeling my own pulse. I hate it. It sucks!! A very bad feeling.

Yes Kurt . Millions of people have anxiety and breathing issues, including myself.

Feels like I can't get air in fully.

Then I found what is called Mindfulness.  Its taught all over the world for thousands of years. Shows you how to breathe properly when you have anxiety. Also helps you manage anxiety using a different perspective.

Search you tube for " Mindfulness breathing Guided meditation 10 minutes "  listen carefully to it  so that you can do this whenever you need to. Use earbuds  if you have them.

YouTube also has many great meditations  anxiety, sleep, depression, anything you want! . Completely calm down my breathing, mind and body.

A good one to start with is called "mindfulness meditation for relaxation by Glenn "

it has a blue background with a tree on the front.

remember whenever you feel anxiety or your breathing is not right, go right to what you learned in the breathing meditation.

❤️❤️❤️

Hey jan, i have tried counselling and mindfullness and it just isnt for me.. it wasnt helping at all

The breathing difficulties arent just when im anxious or anything its literally 24/7 and its really worrying for me. Like it works for me if im about to have a panic or anxiety attack but the breathing troubles are there always.. feels like i dont have enough oxygen in my body or something

Yep haha thats it, is it a constant thing for you?  My inhaling is normally harder than exhaling haha but i feel like im not breathing in enough oxygen and there isnt enough in my body.. my lung test shows i can breath out hard and fast enough but not for a long enough duration..

Yes it's a constant mostly. I've had ekg, and chest x-ray recently no abnormalities. Was told I have a slight heart murmor, but I've been told that my whole life so shouldn't be an issue.

Its so damn annoying!! I cant play sports anymore cause i cant breathe properly

Yeh ive had the works done and no abnormalities either

Just a suggestion that I got from the doc cause I felt the same -- like I was struggling to breath.  He told me to get in a comfortable chair at least 3 times a day to start and breath in thru your nose and out thru your mouth.  Be sure you are not stomach breathing -- your stomach should not be going in and out and you should be sitting upright.  Just like the doc asks when he/she wants to listen to your heart while doing an exam.

Don't do to many of them tho because you may hyperventilate.

hey kurt it could be anxiety. that plays a big part in our bodies. and some medicines can do it too. sorry that's about all I know best of luck to you

Hi frazzled I've been told the opposite by my doc. I've been told to breath from my stomach and not from my chest. What's this all about?

Hi Kurt

I also have this symptom of anxiety. When you breathe correctly your tummy should rise and fall. If not, you are chest breathing and this is not correct. You can find breathing exercises on Youtube and in time your breathing will start to feel normal again. It is difficult at first as your body isnt used to breathing properly but you will get there.

Hi Kurt,

I am struggling with this also! It's an absolute nightmare!!

Kurt it's the worse feeling ever. It's when i inhale i cant get a full breath and constantly yawn, try to take deep breath but it's like i hit a wall. I

Also end up with a really dry mouth and throat and sometimes get a strange taste in my mouth. I've had chest x-rays, ecg etc but seems to be down to breathing shallowy to my chest. I'm trying to do 3/5 breathing which is breath in for 3 counts and out for 5 counts but u have to breath from ur stomach. Breathing from ur chest causes hyperventilation which in turn causes chest tightness. Hope this helps

Ah ha now we have conflicting answers from different physicians (not usual I'm finding out). Plus, there are conflicting answers on Utu be, as well

I guess it's try both (can't hurt) and see which one gives you relief (if either of them do).

Good old suffering opinions. I suppose what works for doesn't always work for another

Not suffering - differing
