8 years ago I was diagnosed with COPD, when my breathing became much worse, my GP sent me to a Respiratory Consultant. After a CT scan and breathing test he told me I did not have COPD and my problems had nothing to do with my lungs and referred me back to my GP whom I'll see in 10 days time. I just can not believe there is nothing wrong, a bit of scarring, slight Bronchiectasis and a very small amount of Emphysema according to the Consultant. YET after doing slight housework, or 1/2 gardening or even walking a short distance, I can hardly breath. Friends and complete Stranger have said, oh my God you can hardly breath! I don't have Asthma have one Inhaler which contains a small amount of Steroid. I do deep breathing exercises but still have to rest many many times during the day. I sleep o.k. because I am always exhausted and not just at night but the whole day. I am now getting depressed, but ONLY because of breathing problem, otherwise have no stress at all. What could I be suffering from if my Lungs are not the cause, getting so sad about it all
