brief feeling of relief?

I know that I am only on day two and that the prozac hasn't fully built up in my system yet but did anyone else have moments in their first couple of days where you briefly felt back to normal and happyish? I had about an hour yesterday where I felt okay and then after work, I couldn't stop sobbing. Today, for about the last hour and a half or so I feel the same way. This morning, I was a wreck..couldn't eat, had to keep taking deep breaths and right now I feel weird happy. I am still having thoughts churning and I know in the back of my mind that it is all going to come crashing down in a bit because that is how this medicine works at the beginning. I guess the point of this long post was to see if anyone else had these brief feelings of relief at the beginning but still feelings of negative/anxious thoughts and just waiting for the other shoe to drop and go back to being a basketcase.

Yes many people have the same thing happen. You can feel great for a little while and then feel terrible.  It's very common.

all anxiety begins in the brain, anxiety leads to the negative thoughts as well as symptoms. So the key is to calm down the brain so that the rest of you is calm. When fear and negativity take  over someone, it's a nightmare. But we don't have to let it take us over!

yes, give the medicine time to work. It can take up to a couple weeks or so. After that see if it's helping you. If not let your doctor know so an adjustment can be made. In the meantime, you need to work on  managing the anxiety. The worst thing you can do is react with anxiety when you feel poorly. That will just increase the anxiety, the negative thoughts  and having to take deep breath's.

here is what has helped me a lot:

what completely calms me down mind and body is listening to audio meditations on YouTube. Just search for guided meditation for breathing.  This will teach you the proper way to breathe when you have anxiety.

Next, listen to meditations called guided meditation for anxiety. They have some on depression, sleeping, stress also.

once you learn the proper breathing technique, you will feel everything calling down.  Do this every time you feel anxiety coming on, always go back to the breathing method! I listen to the meditations for anxiety and stress a couple times a day.

another thing I do is stay active and socialize. This keeps your mind off of other things. I also began eating healthy and staying away from refined sugar. The worst thing you can do is sit  around and think too much! That will make everything worse. Because remember anxiety starts in the brain.

The minute I get a negative thought it instead of fighting it off, I acknowledge that it is there and then I picture it floating off and dissolving. I do this every time. Eventually your brain will do it for you automatically.

if you can get a book called Mindfulness,  teaches you all of this and help you regain your peace of mind and manage anxiety. It is a white covered book with a ball of tangled string on the cover. I think it could really help you along with the meditations and staying active.

be good to yourself and try not to take life too seriously. Don't forget to laugh and smile which has been proven to make positive changes in the brain!

Never give up! Fight for yourself  ðŸŒ¸ðŸŒ¸ðŸŒ¸

Unfortunately, the good feeling slowly turned into antsy and into a small panic attack and I've been crying off and on since. I will definitely look into some videos on YouTube and the book you e suggested. Thank you
