Bright red bleeding 1 week post op

Im one week post op. Just been to loo and quite a lot of bright red blood. Anyone else ???

I had this at two weeks post op and it's probably because you have either overdone things or twisted in an akward position without thinking.  I had not been overdoing I didn't think, but I had stretched down behind an armchair to unplug my laptop and I think that's what did it.  I went to the loo in the afternoon after sitting down with my feet up for a couple of hours, and there it was - a bright red bleed and quite heavy.  I was really frightened, got an emergency drs appointment - he recommended going to A&E but it was 5pm, pouring with rain and the hospital 12 miles away, so I decided to just go home and rest.  Stayed in bed the next day and all was fine after that.  If it doesn't ease off after a while then you may feel it worth a dr's visit but if it does ease off, I would just rest for the afternoon and see how it is tomorrow.

Thank you. Was a bit of a shock as had no bleeding even spotting after op even in hospital. Will keep an eye. I have beendoing bits but not lots x

Mine was a shock as well as I had had no bleeding apart from very slight immediately after the op.  When I left hospital I didn't think I would need to buy any more pads!  Doh!!

I started with the same one week post op.  Had to have an ultrasound scan as it continued and I had a haematoma in the vaginal vault.  Keep an eye on the loss and if it continues contact hospital or go to a and e

Thank you. What did they do to clear it? Xx

No sorry I only lost bit of blood after op none since and 5 weeks post op x

Nothing.  It just had to drain which took about four weeks but became less as time went on.  I had another bleed last week at about twelve weeks post op following intercourse.  I had a second scan at six weeks which showed the haematoma had reduced is size by a third.

Hi Froggy

It's a sign you have done too much.  You need to put your feet up for a few hours at a time, then have a walk around, then get your feet up again.   If it does not get any better over the weekend contact your hospital, just so they can be aware of the situation.

Hopefully it will stop if you rest up.  Take care

Thanks Jacqui. Maybe I have done a few things but ive been feeling ok. Ive not taken painkillers apart from 1st day home when i fdlt awful but woke up after night in own bed feeling hood and the only have pain is when ive sneezed or kids made me laugh. My hubby made me call ward and they have said as long as not pouring from me that ive probably overdone things and to monitor overnight. If I get temperature, feel ill or start bleeding more than a normal period to call them back. Im too impatient to get back to normal I think. How are you doing?

Hi Froggy

Glad to hear you contacted the Ward, always helps if the professionals tell you everything is okay.  Just make sure you have your proper rest.

I think it is amazing having no pain, I cannot get over it, we were very lucky!  So glad you are feeling well, trouble is that makes you want to do things!  Remember just walk and rest, and be decorative, leave the work to everyone else.

I am absolutely blooming with good health now everything is back in it's rightful position.  I am doing 40 flights of stairs a day and 4 walks with Rosie.  My level of fitness seems to be better than when I was doing Zumba, which I am very surprised at!  I might have to keep the stairs in the keep fit schedule!

Now remember to be careful and I hope the bleeding easies off for you soon.  Let me know how it goes.

Hi Froggy

Now that is more like it, get the slaves working, he! he! before you know it your rest weeks will be over so enjoy!

He! he! when you have had your rest we can have a race see who can do the most stairs, think how tight our bums will be!

Take care
