Hi Anna
That was encouraging- my hubby was home at lunch time today and took me out for lunch in the wheelchair and some fresh air to lift my mood. I will endeavour to listen to my body do as the professionals request and tap into this forum thank you
Oooh I would get so arsey when someone knocked on door, didn't they know how long it would take me to get there!!! Just getting up from chair was and a mission itself, crutches flying about as if they were possessed!!
If I was expecting a parcel I would virtually sit by front door and wait for it with door unlocked ready.
Makes me realise how far I've come.
Hi Dawn, when I was in the boot and could not walk much, I had some outings in a wheelchair to pubs, gardens, shops and even to a cinema. Change of scenery and being out of the house definitely help to lift my mood so keep going places. š
I never used crutches, just hopped on a good leg with a zinmer frame snd perfected bum/arms down and up the srairs. Whilst I 'invented' various techniques how to do all sorts of things, I had problems at the beginning with negotiating a front door step. I wished I had thought of the above mentioned 'chair trick'. šš¤
Appreciate this thread is from 2018 but found it on ChatGPT as I had my ankle surgery two weeks ago - 9 screws and a plate! Iām in the acceptance phase but but scared so looking for inspirational stories. If anyone who has gone through this back in 2018 could share an update, that would be much appreciated.
