I broke my heel on 7/10/16 and apparently was clean break so no surgery required.
When I broke my heel as I said above cast for 10 days then just an elastic sock. No weight bearing for 12 weeks and yesterday told healed perfectly. Problem is doctor said I could walk and return to work in three days. I am having extreme difficulty walking as foot very stiff and am worried how to go to work Monday when I catch buses then walk a fair distance to work. Uncertain how to make walking easy 😫
That is what happened to me two years ago. Except it was both heels. I got better and worse with extreme soreness on the outside of my foot. Which was tendonitis. That went on to be blown. Dr says he sees this all the time with flat feet or really high arches.
Oh my goodness! That has to be the worst pain. Hang in there. And recovery sounds so crucial with a very long non weight bearing time. Triple ankle and toe fusion and tendon repair for me. Eleven pins and a plate are nestled in my ankle and foot and my ligament is crawling up my leg. That happened six months ago. I am walking now again. My non weight bearing was six weeks. Luckily a friend lent me a box of awesome series of DVDS. Breaking Bad, Orange Is Black......tons. I only got through series three of Breaking Bad. I wish you l the best in a successful recovery.
Thanks Yvonne. I think patience and perseverance is the key!!!
