Well 3 days after returning to work my right femur collasped and I'm in severe pain again. Very depressed because I ferl this is another set back for me. I went to ER and they admitted me and just gave me pain medicine and to not do any exercises. Has anyone had this happen and why do they wait to do surgery on the right
Hi Theresa was this due to an accident or is it AV that's caused it, sometimes there's reasons for not being able to do the hip op straight away, I'm not sure why.
Can you walk on it.
I have AV and I can walk some with a walker but still painful. I didn't have a accident or nothing. Why would they wait
I'm not sure, it doesn't make any sense if the femur has collapsed, in fact its disgusting, you should be next in line, can you walk without aids
Not at all.
Dear Teresa
That is so horrible for you. Can you help us understand exactly what has happened.
Thinking of you.
Richard
I have a vascular necrosis and the femur collasped on the right side. They sent me home from hospital and told me to follow up in 2 weeks so IDK when surgery will happen. And ehy?didn't they do it while I was in there. Instead of sending me home with pain
dear teresa,
so sorry to read this -
have you seen your surgeon who did the hip replacement on your left hip?
there must be a good reason why they want to wait to do THR surgery on your right hip ...
I think that he/she will be the only one who can answer your question .... we are merely laymen and can only guess ...
please let us know how you are getting on, okay ... we are here to support you ..
big warm hug
renee
Hi Theresa, I'm presuming your otherwise healthy at the moment, this could have a bearing on your ability to have surgery as well.
I am going for MRI tomoz to check on the state of my hip, I also cannot walk on left leg dug to hip, had MRI January and there was no arthritis or AV then but it can progress quite rapidly I'm told, was your other hip the same, I know there's no cure so they should do it.
Is your pain constant or just when you weight bear.
I'm in healthy condition and I did have AV on the left. I go back to surgeon on the 16th hope he schedules surgery at that time. And its a constant pain in the right
I seen my surgeon in the hospital when I was admitted but he did say it was collasped and would see me in office in 2 weeks I guess I'm alittle confused as to why he would wait but Dr knows best I guess
I'm hoping that for your sake he gets you in quickly, I'm also hoping that mines not going that way as I'm not in constant pain, did your start off just hurting when you tried to weight bear, mine seems to spasm when I try to fully weight bear on it, it lifts my knee up and if I'm not careful it knocks me over, hence like you on crutches full time, does that sound familiar
