Has anyone came across these in relation to each other as my 3 yr old grand-daughter suffers from both. the arrest happens when she is having a severe coughing fits due to the bronchiectasis but Docs cant find the connection. Any input would be welcome. x 
I wonder, has your granddaughter been screened for Cystic Fibrosis because this does not sound good at all. The "arrest" you refer to is called cough syncope and can be very dangerous and often results in falls. Bronchectasis is not unknown in chiildren but it is unusual. Has she been seen by a specialist? If not a referral should be made as soon as possible.
I believe I had this with bronchopneumonia aged 5 .An anaethetist wrote COPD blaming smoking not this .Suspect could relate to pulmonary hypertension/heart but am not a trained medic.Had coughing fits at one time controlled with asthma inhalers .Now just have a flu jab and acupuncture.My cardiac arrest was oxygen not getting to main organs -everywhere.I now wear a mask & machine at night.Iam 67 .
