Hi all, I had my 1st dry needling yesterday on my lower spine and some light massage. It feels a little better this morning but to early yet, will be a long term project I think. ( Facet Joint Arthritis )
My question is, I am on blood thinners, and my Physio knows this and was gentle. But this morning when I woke, both my eyes have very dark looking bruises under them, not the full length of the eye.. Like where we have bags lol
Is this something I should be concerned about? my only change is I have started to take 1 Super 1000 fish oil capsule a day.
I guess I am just being silly because of the blood thinners : No bruising where she inserted the needles, a little sore but fine.
You should check into this. A quick look at what dr google has to say indicates that fish oil can cause excessive and prolonged bruising "especially when taken with other blood thinners like aspirin" - and presumably your prescription blood thinners.
I'm glad you find the dry needling seems to be helping.
I was told to stop taking my CLO capsulesw hile having a hip replacement and was told by the hospital pharmacist it was because, along with the surgery drugs, they would thin my blood too much.
Yep I have to agree with the other's I have always been told to stop my fish oil before any surgeries or epedural injections.
But another thing is that my eye dr had me taking omega 3 1100 mg and when I started on pred he told me to stop the omega 3. I am still having a lot of problems with my dry eye since so we talked about starting it over again. He told me that one of the problems is bruising.
