My hip replacement leg is bruised quite badly it is 8days since my op is this normal

I would say yes especially if your diabetic but if not I had my op Last April 2017 and its september 2018 and I still get the odd bruise?

Yeah this is quite normal. I have had both hips replaced and both knees and suffered bruising after ever operation for the first few weeks.

Oh yes, my leg bruised bad, all the way down to my ankle! Dont worry it'll soon go x

Hi Babs, had my hip op three weeks ago, back of my knee is very tender as is my calf, guess it's due to the clamps they use to hold you still during the surgery. Also my lower leg feels quite cold most of the time - using hot water bottle on it at night to try and keep warm.  Think it's early days as my surgeon said a hip op is the devil's work - 666 = six days feeling like ***t, six weeks feeling better, and six months till you feel normal!!! Good luck and chin up, we'll get there!!❤️

I had some bruises, too, and they went away as I recovered from surgery.
