Hi everyone,
I’m on week 4 post Ltkr and was wondering how long bruising can last and what your experiences are! I can faintly see where the bruising was on my ankle! (week5post Ltkr) Is this normal?
Hi everyone,

I was lucky not a lot of bruising but lots of swelling. I'm 5 months Almost ltkr and both legs same size. Only slight pain nothing to complain about. Be patient it's very early days good luck
James, I had a lot of brushing for about 3weeks after surgery.
I am 12 weeks post and had severe bruising on ankle, heel, up my side of leg and upper thigh, along with severe swelling. The bruising started to disappear around 3 to 4 weeks. I still have some swelling around the left side of my knee cap. Keep icing and elevate. It will get better.
After 15 months, I still have a brownish, rectangular bruise on the front of my leg, midway between my knee and ankle. It doesn't hurt and probably will never go away.
After bilateral knee replacements 8 weeks ago, I woke with Rt upper inner thigh bruising from the tourniquet I believe and ankle bruising. Mine went away about week 5. I can faintly see a hint of it yet in the ankle. Did you experience any foot numbness? How is your record going? Chin up and stay strong.
Hi Sim911,
I don’t have any foot numbness but certain parts of my leg feel numb. I love going to physical therapy and like doing the exercises! I’m so glad I’m able tk get around fairly well! I hope everything goes well for you and best wishes! Thank you for replying!
