Hello ecetyone I am hoping someone can give me a little advice on this thing on my cheek
So I had a what I thOught was a boil. It was very red painful and big. When it first started I thOught it would turn to be a really bad painful pimple. But it never came to a head..
So I did warm compresses and it would ooze after only like 20 seconds of me holding it on there.
The next morning I woke up with some of the bottom of mu eye swollen and it was kinda bruised..
Then I did a compress again and the swelling in my eye went down shortly after.. I did another couple times and it continued to go down.
Now days later I sm left with this bubble like bump feels like a burn, but not painful like a burn. So I tried to put a warm compress on it. For days it has not gone down.
Has anyone experienced it? I was told by someone it was a bad infection and I had all the symtpoms that required medical attention. Will this go away? Or do I neednto go to the doctor?
Thanks and be well
If this is something that isn't getting better on its own and has been around for more than a week or so, then perhaps you should see your GP.
I think you were right that it was likley to be a boil. Boils nearly always go away if they burst fully [as nature no doubt intends] or if they are effectively squeezed [every one tells you not to but who wants a visible boil?]. All I think you have done is sqeezed too early and caused bruising. It may come up fully again or as the other poster says see a doctor
Everything i read said that you want to do a hot compress to get the pus stuff out... so i did and it got so much small... i think i might have waited too long to do that, so its going to take longer to go away.
I have thought about going to the doctor.. but i just feel kinda silly because there evidence of a serious infection that needs to be treated by a doctor... but then again im not a doctor! i think i am going to wait a week or so just to be sure because it is my face and i wouldnt want a scar or something or a infection to spread.
Thank you for your response
