For the last week or so I've been feeling like breathing deeply is kinda difficult and my face has been twitching a bit. My neck has also been feeling a little weak. Today I asked some people if my speech was slurring and most of them said no, but some said it was a little bit. Would bulbar onset slurring be like that, or would it be so obvious that everybody would notice it? I'm kinda freaking out and I'm starting to feel like it is slurring, although I might have just imagined it? Does this sound like bulbar onset ALS at all?
One person said they thought I was slightly buzzed, but most others said they couldn't hear it at all. I don't know what to do ;-;
You do not have ALS.
I feel like I know that logically, by my anxiety seems to overcome it. It's strange but my OCD seems to make me obsess over it. A bulbar onset slur would be much more pronounced though, right? I feel like I'm going slightly crazy ;-;
None of what you are saying applies to you. You some how chose an off the wall, impossiboe ailment to focus on. It is so unrealistic that reassurance is useless because its the ocd not reality. Does your therapist know your ocd is very unmanaged?
Yes I've told him I'll be going back very soon. I don't mean to be annoying or anything its just that it feels so real ;-; like my neck genuinely feels weaker, and taking a deep breath really does feel harder.
You are not annoying. But you are very absorbed in your current belief that is completely turning off all your other thoughts and rationale.it would be impossible to reassure you your brain is on repeat. I hope this can be properly managed shortly. Think about what stressors have been going on in your life. Journal a bit. Go back to where before this was a belief and just a thought and see if you can rememeber what was going on in your life. lastly go on utube and seek out EFT tapping. Works well for ocd and help calm you. Ocd can be very tought in people. But it can get better and you can get past it you just need some more help with it.
Change your routine. Any change to it. Just change the routine. Go to someones house, make any change. It breaks ocd. You cant do the same thing, same enviornment. This way your brain will use a different electrical route. So the same path wont keep occurring. Even if it sounds weird go for it. You want the electrical route to go down a different path. Also look into a heavy metal detox. Even a better diet. If on NO meds at all look into same-e, gaba. L glutemine, 5htp some get belly aches from that, magnessiun calcium blends, b12, methyl folate ..spirulina for metal detox, dolce, wild blueberries...foods cantelope, mangos, blackberries, strawberries all berries good for the brain, papaya is an excellent helper for ocd, spinach, butterleaf lettuce but a salad of it. Dont get trapped in your belief system. Sweet potoatoes, kimbocha sqaush, sweet dumpling, red curry, look for these. Herbs..ginko leaves its an alkoloid very useful. Ashwaganda for ocd. Ocd triggers off a lot of adrenaline so you have a cycle going on, lemon balm soothe the nerves..tea you can grow this at home. Omega 3 not from fish oil actually thats ok...but flaxseed and hemp way way better. IF YOU USE MEDS look at all the foods and try to incorporate some into your daily diet and forget the suplliments because then you have to deal woth interactions. Thats the best help i have. Hope tour appointment with your therapist is very soon. But yes you can incorporate the foods noted.
Thank you. I think you're right, cause when I'm distracted I don't notice it as much. I also stopped feeling the voice thing to a large extent after a few people told me they couldn't hear it. My neck stoll feels weak, but I'm not quite as worried, especially since my hand has twitched a little as well and I know ALS doesn't really move around like that. Thanks very much, I'm gonna try to be more calm.
