I'm now 2 weeks post-op (bladder, a+p repair) and am slowly regaining energy but taking it very easy. I find any moer than 20-30 mins on my feet or a couple of hours sitting rather than lying down/feet up make me uncon=mfortabel. It's not painful - just unconfrtable. I am now getting the prickly feelings people have mentioned and I assume that's the stitches?
I'm on antibiotics for a water infection but the thing that's worrying me is the bulge of my fron wall...
My GP said she could also see muscle wall outside the vagina but she hadn't looked at many 10 days post-op and I shouldn't worry!! But I am worrying! The posterior wall seems fine but there is definite front wall outside. I'm just so scared that it has failed.
I guess what I'm asking is does anynoe else have experience fof some front wall being outside the vagina afer the op due to swelling and it then gradually retracting during recovery?
Do you think I should be contacting the consultant or waiting longer? I don't have a post-op appmt as yet - no idea if I'm getting one...
Hi Amanda, I'm 9 weeks post op for an a&p. My anterior prolapse came back after 2.5 weeks (when my period was due). I went to GP who said she could see a small prolapse but it could be swelling and congestion due to the imminent period.
I waited and and worried til by 6 week check (couldn't get in any earlier with consultant). He confirmed that it had come back albeit 70% smaller than original one! He's told me to wait u til October to decide whether to go back to surgery. I'm due on again this week and it's pressing against my bladder making me wee every 5 mins.
if you're anxious, I'd make an appointment to put your mind at rest. I hope it's just swelling for you.
Hi Amanda, yes I will have it done again I think. I'm so uncomfortable at the moment. They say it takes 3 months for you to feel normal again, so I'll see how I feel then. Due on at the moment too and have got so much pressure on my bladder and new prolapse is v low.
