Bump and Patch on Tongue

I have a lesion on my tongue

I went to the doctor and she said that it might be trauma and that I should wait to see if it heals.

It looks better, but I can still feel a bump. Is this bump scar tissue. Will it eventually be absorbed.

Any other possibilities.

Recently a large red patch (not raised) has appeared on the tongue. It does not look like it is connected to the small bump. Any idea what this can be?

Your dentist is the best person to see with concerns in your mouth.  They have the tilting chair and various mirrors etc to examine your mouth. They can also take an X-ray if needed.  Take care and keep in touch.

I believe that the GP is the best person to consult in the first instance.

I used to work for a doctor. Patients with mouth problems were always advised to see their dentist and patients with eye problems were advised to see their optician or attend the eye hospital.

No harm in seeing your dentist for a second opinion.

Take care.

You could have bit it, think you need to see dentist for read patch on tongue, try holding salt water in mouth a minute till your visit to dentist.

Salt water is a good idea

I am due to see a doctor tomorrow

I don't have a dentist

It is interesting to read your post. I have placed my problem on another site and someone said that in their experience of working in a dental practice that patients reporting tongue problems were always advised to see theirr doctor

Just a note.

Out of interest, at the side of this page 'Related Information', I see various codes, for example, O, I. Do you know what these letters mean. I have also see many others, including number, for example, 2, 5, 7, J, W, Y, and more.

That's good Anon if he think's you need to see a dentist he'll give you a referral.
