I haven't had unprotected sex in years. Unfortunately, I went to a seedy massage parlor exactly 20 days ago now. I only received a hand job and was given a damp towel to clean up with. I didn't think much about it as I understand that this type of thing usually presents no risk.

However...

Symptoms:

-burning sensation on penis shaft 10 days after exposure.

-flu like symptoms 11 days after exposure. These symptoms included what felt like a low grade fever, nausea, sleepless nights, waking up sweating. They lasted about a week.

-a SMALL pin head sized bump appeared 17 days after exposure.

Does this timetable make any sense for STD transmission?

Does it point to a herpes outbreak?

Am I overthinking this?

Any help is appreciated

youre overreacting! Who gets herpes from a hand job unless she was playing with herself & then touching you lol I'm sorry but only transmitted through sex. Oral, vaginal & anal

You may be overthinking it but better to get these things checked.

My worry would be where that damp towel may have been!

Get to a GUM clinic and get a check up!
