Bunion surgery on both feet in the 60's.

I had a double bunion surgery when I was 10. I have bad scaring with numbness in toes and on my right foot I have a bad hammer toe. I had it done twice on my right foot.

I am know in my 50's and I was having pain in my right ankle and then while walking in the sand I experienced a right big toe rupture and cannot bend my big toe at all. That was in 2013. Now I am having the same pain in my left ankle and am worried about the samething happening on the left big toe.

When I went to the podietrist. He could not believe what my feet looked like. I had xray's which he asked if he could show the other doctors. Has anyone else had bunion surgery in the 60's. I cannot wear specific shoes for my feet are so wide and the scars tend to get blisters.

I feel sorry for you. Personally I think at the age of 10, you were too young having bunionectomies done. The numbness you've mentioned is caused by nerve damage but I'm not sure about your ankles. I had a bunionectomy on my left foot 8 years ago causing me nerve damage and deformity which has now been corrected having scarf/akin osteotomy done on June 24. I honestly feel you may need the same operation but before doing so, check out different orthopaedic surgeons, getting opinions from previous patients if possible, reviews and check with the medical board who are their top surgeons. Best of luck.

Oh wow.. U have been brave.. It will be worth it.

Take care follow all the doc direction.. Don't over do! Take it one day at a time .

Healing prayers sent UR way

Thank you for your reply. I agree with you on how old I was. I was hoping there was someone out there like me. I will check in to the surgery you had done.

Good luck to you.  I did not have the same problems.  But I want to send you healing thoughts and prayors.
