Burning foot

I am 8 days post op on my 2nd replacement. Both this time and last I had a burning foot in the evenings.

It must be nerve issues. Last time it did pass eventually. I am hoping it will this time. Has anyone else experienced the same.

welcome to a new shinny hip and pain free . eventually the burning pain will recede its from all the swelling. ice rest and keep your foot elevated. you probably know the drill. i still have tingling in my foot occasionally 2 years later.

Hi
i experienced a burning sensation in my ankle and toes after my op mainly at night. I relieved it by placing a soft pillow under my legs just above the ankles allowing them to dangle over the edge and avoiding contact with the bedsheets. I also had my toes poking out from the duvet.

Thank you John . I have been doing the same thing - but it is very difficult to sleep with that discomfort. Whilst I am not glad it happened to you too, I am glad to know that it is not just me . As another has said, it is probably the swelling pressing on the nerves

I rang the hospital support line and they confirmed to me it was probably the nerves settling down after the op.Im now at wk 11 and all is good.
Good luck with your continued recovery .
John

That is good to know

Thanks, I hope yours continues to go well too
