Started off as tingling three months ago. Been referred to a
neurologist and awaiting tests. Been on 15mg Mirtazapine
for three weeks but having to increase to 30mg. Tried other medication but unable to tolerate side effects, perhaps not
giving them enough time. Also having hot sweats where
my whole body is affected. Any helpful comments would
be appreciated.
I empathise with you. Have you had your blood checked for any of the anaemias at all?
The signs and symptoms could be related to pernicious anaemia. There is the Association for Pernicious Anaemia where they will give very detailed information.
I tis important to have blood screening done to exclude/diagnose pernicious anaemia to avoid damage to the peripheral nerves.

Thanks for replying so promptly. When the tingling first started
I had a full range of blood tests, full blood count, B12, thyroid,
arthritis, diabetes and all came back clear. I am waiting to have
a 24hr urine and nerve ending test. I have given blood for many
years until recently and there has never been a problem,

Hi, yes I have been screened for diabetes which came back clear.
This may be due to adverse reactions to medications or an auto immune condition.
