had a burning urethra no uti for years now painful to wee aswell seen two specialists and had lots of tests they cant find anything taken amitrptline and oestrogen cream for urethra but still not luck have to drink loads of water but doesnt always help with pain anyone else have these symptoms???
how do you know there is no UTI ?
I'm assuming they did the camera thing up your urethra since you've seen two specialist. If you get nowhere with this then maybe it's gynecological? It might be worth checking with a gyno Dr.
I have seen gyno dr that was second specialist she's put me on amitriptaline tabs and given me the oestrogen cream and done examination ( she says everything looks normal and fine) everything given made no diff to pain. I am supposed to be going back to see gyno but got to wait till end of July!! Hard when in so much discomfort and pain
and yes and I've had cameras up urethra and into bladder all looks normal.
countless urine tests and cultures sent off to hospital and everytime Drs dip test my urine it's always fine no infection shows even went sent to hospital.
How frustrating that has to be. I'm sure you've done all the Google searching you can too. I can't think of what else to suggest. I'm sure sorry.
hi Holly
i know you saying there's no infection.. what i've tried before is drinking baking soda in water it really helped ...
just a half a teaspoon while you are waiting to see what else can work
however try not to drink too much of it
try googling it
sorry to hear u have this problem , it can realy dampen everything
I had the same thing happen to me and it turns out I have a condition called Interstitial Cystitis. Basically it is inflammation of the bladder lining causing dysuria. If you haven't looked into this I'd recommend doing so.
Hello Kelly
Are you being treated for IC now?
i also have terrible ureathra burning all the time and they said possible ic. had the camera and found nothing. i have been taking elmiron and urell for 10 months and still burning very bad. i feel like a have no life due this constant burning.
Hello, as someone who went through something similar for months I hope my solution can help you. It may sound silly but I suggest you buy some probiotics for women. And for a more immediate relief buy some kombucha to drink daily. It may not taste the best but it was literally the only thing that helped me in the end. This is especially important if you have gone through a cycle of antibiotics since they usually kill the good bacteria along with the bad.
I had unexplained burning once. I just started drinking loads of cranberry juice and it went away.
Hi Holly
I’ve been dealing with the same for over 3 years. 4 Urologists, 3 Gyns later and countless Rx trials and I’m still not in control of symptoms. I did have some relief for about 6 months by taking Vesicare and Myrbetriq together, but symptoms came back. I have a question, do you find your burning is worse at different times?? It seems to be the most prevalent for me at night, is that the case for you too?
My daugthers going through same but with very painful periods too! Been on Yasmin for 5 years. And codiene. Now on Metamic Acid too! Last 9 months she’s had painful peeing. No UTI, NO IC or ENDO. Had a Minerva coil fitted in the hope it helps with periods. Will ween herself off Yasim to see if this helps. As there is a suggestion its linked to IC symtoms. Pouring a warm jug of water over her pubic bone when peeing does seem to help! But obvoiusly cant do this when out. I am encouraging her to look at her acid/ alkaline balance and diet to see if there are any trigger foods. ( eg: tomatoes, concerntrated citric juices, spicey food which she really enjoys). She does not drink alcohol, is mainly vegetarian/ vegan. How are you doing a year on from your post? best wishes
Where can i buy the kombucha at ??
Hi Brittany. Are you still experiencing the symptoms? I am desperate for answers as I too am experiencing burning, frequent urination, and pressure when urinating. I am so afraid it is IC. I already had a urodynamics test and the dr said it was overactive bladder but I dont agree since it shouldn't cause pain and burning. I think I should do a cystoscopy but I'm petrified. Please let me know if you are any better or found help.
Hi all, I’m 17 (male.) and I seem to be having the same issue. Constant burning in my urethra for 4 months now and it’s depressing. Been to the doctors twice now and I did a urine culture for bacteria and nothing showed up. Was on 2 different bacterial meds for 10 days at a time nothing helped. I’d like to note I have awful allergies, since I was born, and bad skin conditions. This has been bothering me for quite some time. I’ve broken down, cried a lot. It’s scary ya know? I think it may be Prostatitus, for me at least, and maybe you. All my symptoms rack up, burning urethra, worse at night, peeing a lot and at night and not big amounts either. And pain in my anal area, like swollenness when I wipe. Sorry for the TMI. I’ve been googling way too much and scaring myself so much. I hope we can talk about this some more. Kinda like a support group haha.
I’m suffering from urinary burning/ pain too from last six months. It usually starts after I pee and lasts anywhere upto half an hour to 2 hours and goes away. Urine tests came out normal, kidney and bladder ultrasound came normal. I am waiting for a gyno. I tried eliminative diet but it didnt work. Only thing that eased my pain off from last one month is TERAZOSIN 2 mg. One of the doctor is very confident that I am suffering from overactive bladder which is causing spasms and my bladder is not relaxing properly. To be honest this is the only medication which is keeping my symptoms under control. First week I didnt notice much difference. Lot of dizziness and low bp which is normal when you start it. But very minimal burning and no pain since last 3 weeks.
