I started in november with nausea and then i was getting a feeling food/acid was coming back up in my mouth if i bent over. I was burping after food and if i had any alcohol i was up all night feeling sick. I started getting a back ache in my upper right, feeling like food was stuck in my oesophagus and aa feeling like i couldnt breath right, My gp took all my bloods which were all fine and said it was acid and gave me lansrapazole to try for a month. I went back a month later and he upped my tabs and gave me pantoprazole and gaviscon. The back ache never really goes away and if i shrug my right shoulder hurts. I just tried some chocolate and right after i couldn't stop burping and something come back up right away in my mouth. I am waiting for an endoscopy but i don't know if the back ache is linked.
HI dianne; sounds like you could benefit from improving your PH levels in your stomach; to assist with what might appear to be excess acid.
Do you drink a lot of tea/ coffee? if you do can i recommend drinking something else for a little while; tomatoe juice / blueberry jucie, herbal teas. And perhaps avoid alcohol until you are feeling better.
Pro-biotics, antiinflammatory foodstuffs (Turmeric spice), and anti-oxidant foods; to assist with clearing the blood of toxins which will assist with breathing.. you can google these to get a list which will have something on it you like and can eat.
I found red grapes and tomato juice with yoghurts and garlic cheese helped (along with the usual vitamin supplements)...
Basically; unless it is a 'funcitonal' issue; ie. something is not working correctly; it will come down to improving PH balance as well as reducing inflammation and removing 'waste' products in the blood.
I hope this helps whilst you are awaiting your test(s).. and i certainly hope you start to feel better soon
Hi Dianne, I have been diagnosed with Gastritus, perniciuos Anemia (Low B12) and low iron. Whilst I was on Lansrapazole, I avoided, chocolate, coffee, spicey or oily foods and of course booze! The booze is the really bad one here as it will irriitate your tummy. Since I had the 4 week course, I have been off drink about 3 months until yesterday when I did drink more than a few pints of beer but today my stomach doesnt feel all that bad! I asked for a second opinion on my bloods and it was then that the doc found the low iron issue which had been "missed" the previous time. The endoscapy is dreadfull so be warned and take full use of all the sedation they have....it's horrible and don't let anyone tell you different. You back is likely not to be related so go see a specialist on this. Keep in touch with the group as to how you go on and good luck. Don't know if I can help any more but here if you want to ask.
ps. Dianne....the burping for me at the start was very embarrasing......it's almost stopped now since I was looked at properly.
