Buspar

Anyone have luck with using Buspar for anxiety?

I am 39, never any issues until I had my gallbladder removed early March. From that point I’ve been having horrible morning anxiety which lessons as the day goes on and I can go to sleep just fine at night. The anxiety wakes me very early. Sometimes 4:30 am to about 6am. I am shaky, get weird warm sensations in the back of my head. I get up to pace. My body kinda hurts, can’t stop worrying. Nausea sets in and I keep feeling hot then cold. I have been to talk therapy weekly since mid March. It doesn’t help much. Was on 25mg Zoloft for 6 weeks. It helped a little bit gave me horrible tremors and headaches so doc put me on Buspar which I’m so afraid to try! I was also given .5 mg Ativan which I use very sparingly because I do not want to get hooked. Plus my doc won’t prescribe anymore. But it does work! I take one .5 mg pill and I feel great! Pretty much 80% myself and one pill lasts all day. Not sure if I want to try the Buspar since I’m so sensitive to side effects with other meds, besides the Ativan. Guess. Should try it and see. Is there anyone out there who’s had luck/no luck with it? I would say my anxiety is moderate, especially in the mornings and I do have no more than one day a week when I’m feeling down and sad, almost tearful because of my worries and such.

Its been along time. But I believe i was put on buspar for aomething but it made my nightmares so much worse worse. So we stopped.

Hi I have been on Buspar for 6 months now. I started out on 7 mg split 2x a day. Didn’t feel much relief but I had severe anxiety. Doctor upped me to 10 mg 2x a day but said I could bump up to 15 mg 2x a day if necessary. That is what I am on now and feel it works pretty good. It is known for being non habit forming which I like.

Best wishes!
