Can all this be anxiety?

hi guys sorry of this goes on a bit I’ll try to keep it as short as possible

I was on citalopram for 5 years and it was amazing for my anxiety and depression. after it stopped working I tried sertraline and it didn’t work so went back on citalopram. it’s been over 6 months now. and it hasn’t helped whatsoever.
these are my symptoms and what I’ve been dealing with…

I wake up with feelings of dread and very shakey. and extremely anxious.
my heart rate is normally about 130-140 most of the day unless I take a beta blocker.
I find I am shakey a lot and have adrenaline waves that fill me with dread.
I get pretty bad brain fog a lot of the time too. it comes and goes.
i get dizzy
feel really lightheaded but my head feels heavy at the same time.
my memory is terrible.
certain smells can trigger my anxiety
I feel weak and shakey.
my muscles ache a lot.
sometimes I can feel really spaced out too.
I just dont feel myself and that’s pretty worrying tbh.

when I eat I get really bad palpitations, headache and just feel very weak and shakey no matter what I eat.
even some evenings my mental anxiety calms a little bit where I don’t feel overly anxious mentally but still feel physically terrible like what I described above.
depression comes and goes when it feels like so i think it’s probably down to my anxiety more than anything else.
I have noticed that my symptoms can be completely different on different days but the same symptoms but just mixed around a little bit.

sorry it was such a long post. can anxiety truly cause all this?
I try to tell myself it will pass when my anxiety does but it’s hard when anxiety wants to tell you otherwise.
thanks for listening guys x

sorry to hear you are going through this , I suffer with bad health anxiety and it causes a number of physical symptoms, they can come and go from day to day, I can have long periods of the same symptoms, or a different symptom each day, dizziness/ spaced out if defo one of thebonrs8i experience, along with headaches, muscles aches, stomach problems , eye twitches and the list goes on .

many of the things you decide do sound like they could be coming from anxiety. I often find the more I think about a symptom the worse it gets.

anxiety causes our bodies to notice normal bodily twinges pains etc that we usually wouldn’t pay much attention to

Just because a medication works once, doesnt necessarily mean it will work again if you stop taking it and then try to go back on it. The same thing happened to me while taking Effexor, I went off of it on my own, for two years. The anxiety came back and the doctor tried to put me back on Effexor, only this time it did not work. The doctor said this happens sometimes as our bodies build up immunities to some medications. So he gave me a benzo (kolonopin) and switched me to another medication called lexapro. the kolonopin was for use for anxiety attacks, during the time it took (2-3 weeks) for the lexepro to get in my system and work to its full effectiveness. For the record i didnt like the kolonopin because it made me feel groggy and loopy so I ask for xanex instead and i still have it for rare panic attacks. So its just a matter of telling your doctor or psychiatrist that the medication isnt working, he/she will give you the “thats not uncommon, your body builds up tolerance to medication” speech, and then put you on something else, but its usually up to the patient to ask for the benzo (xanex, etc.) yourself, as it is a narcotic and they dont like to offer prescribing narcotics for some reason. So that probably will be on you to ask for. hope this helps, feel better
