I am not sure exactly what happened about 5 years ago. I was wringing out a wet rag when it caused immediate and excruciating pain. Pain that took morphine to handle. The Dr at the after-hours clinic xrayed and said he thought bursitis. It cleared up. I haven't had any real issues since until about a month ago. My arm hurts to lift above shoulder height. It hurts to shut the car door, etc. My friend thinks it's my rotator cuff. Can the incident from years ago have caused this problem? Could I have torn or damaged the cuff by wringing the rag? I gave it a real good twist, using my whole arm to do so. Thanks.
see the doctor for evaluation. good luck.
Victoria13635, I had a complete rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder many years ago! Luckily the surgery worked and my arm hasn’t bothered me since! However, I got my very first cortisone shot n my left shouler and am now paralyzed in my left hand( no movement of my fingers)! I never had a problem with my left arm, except for pain that stopped the range of motion! The doctor gave me that cortisone shot and destroyed my life as I knew it! Never take a cortisone shot because they are only temporary fixes and eventually wear off! I have to se a neurologist because they have to find the cause of the paralysis! I feel defeated as I cannot do anything with my left side including weakness in my left leg! I will keep you updated on what happens! I researched these shoulder shots of cortisone and found nothing but bad news! My guess, he hit a nerve along with tearing my rotator cuff! I’m in a world of pain and can only pay they find the cause!
