I feel short of breath 24/7 and literally experience chest pains as soon as I wake up... i dont understand how anxiety can wake me from a sleep with chest pain and also make me feel like im constantly suffocating... ive been to the ER numerous times and they say im fine.. when will this stop?
it will diminish or maybe even stop once the anxiety is being managed. Anxiety itself may never go away 100% but you can definitely make it more manageable. Speak with a counselor. you need some direction right now. It’s difficult to do alone. I’ve been able to reduce my anxiety by 90% with changing my mental attitude. , and taking care of some of the things in my life that was creating anxiety. Learning how to deal with things in life better helps a lot.
right before you go to bed take 5-10 min to do breathing exercises right from your bed and do it first thing in the am as well… its a form or relaxing your body. do them throughout the day as well it helps!
Do you notice yourself paying attention to your breathing, like your controlling your breathing manually instead of it being an automatic thing ?

Yes i was doing the same thing and its very scary feeling, ive also been to all types of doctors appt and er vists . everything comes back normal. Doctors says is could be anxiety. i could not bring myself to believe this feeling of not being able to breath or get a good breath was due to anxiety. I am doing better now but it still sneaks up on me from time to time. when i feel like im noticing my breathing i basically distract my self and that seems to help. if you get caught up on it and google and think about it i found it makes it last longer threw out the day.
