Can Anyone Help Interpreting Blood Test Results? I'm Confused

Hi,

So I recently thought I may had an exposure to herpes and thought I'd possibly caught it. I had a small bump on the tip of my penis which was PCR swabbed which came back negative, however I thought that it may have already healed. The Dr at the GUM clinic said it looked like a block pore. Therefore I decided to have an Igg blood test done at a private clinic in the UK for peace of mind.

My results were as follows:

H.S.V. I (IgG)    0.0982    Index

H.S.V. II (IgG)    <0.500    Index

I was quoted by the clinic as coming back negative for both types but as you can see the HSV 1 index is slightly higher. This test was done 16 weeks after my last exposure and I was wondering that possibly it could be a false negative.

I'd be greatly appreciative of anyone who could help me with my situation.

Thanks

From my limited understanding, I believe you need and index above 1.1 to be considered positive. Also your HSV2 index is higher 0.5 compared to the HSV1 index of 0.09 emphasis on the decimal point. Maybe go to your GUM clinic for better explanation.
