i also want to add that about a week ago, i put dove soap on my penis and the bump felt extremely irritated. And i would like to add that I do masturbate regularly, I used to use shea butter but about a month ago (around the same time when i realized that i had this bump) , I started using body oil gel. I have not masturbated for about 2 days but I have not realized any difference in the bump.
Okay Josh, you have quite a lot going on here, and you are right to be concerned. As the evidence that you have found so far suggests - and I agree with this too - is that this is very unlikely to be an STD / STI. Lumps and bumps that appear on the penis that look like this are very common, and the vast majority have a simple cause, such as a blocked skin pore, or an ingrown hair follicle.
.
So, what you have does have some similarity to a Genital Wart it is very unlikely that you would have just one if this is what it was. Here, in the case of Herpes for example it is easy to get lost in the fact that many of us (perhaps even the majority of the population) are HSV-1 or HSV-2 carriers and most of the time we will not get any symptoms, other that the occasional cold sore around the mouth, or the occasional outbreak of warts on the genitals. Most of us will be Herpes carriers and be unaware of it, and may not even get any symptoms - again, what you have does not look like an HSV Wart.
.
Again you were right to try the antiseptic wash and what I do is I keep a bottle of TCP (perhaps only available in the UK) and I dab this directly onto bumps that look like this, 3 or 4 times a day for 3 or 4 days and the bump would normally start to dry out and heal.
.
You then mention in your follow-up message about using Dove soap and that you have used different things as Lube for Masturbation - so there are two things here: i.) the Lube you need to find one that does not irritate the skin and in particular the bump. The best ones are plant based extracts such as Aloe Vera Gel or Coconut Oil. I would try the aloe vera gel first as the oil could irritate the bump; and
ii.) to notice any difference for ANY penile skin condition AND you do NOT want to irritate a skin issue further you need to abstain from masturbation (and sex) for at least 8 to 12 days to notice any difference.
I have a severe genital skin condition and I had to abstain from sex and masturbation for around 5 or 6 months to get any benefit for my skin - although the bump you have should fade away much quicker than this!

The website I checked for information on Genital warts is as follows:

Thankyou, so do you think it is a sexually transmitted genital wart? I’ve had others tell me that “bumps” like this are completely normal & heal themselves. Do you think this bump could also be because of the lube i have been using? I also want to note that I’ve had cold sores in the past, not sure if this would be related to that…
Josh, it would need a medical professional, or a sexual health doctor to take your medical and sexual history to say more precisely what is happening for you - I doubt very much whether this is related to any form of lube, the fact that you have had cold sores would likely be a stronger indicator of what you have going on. Only a medical professional can tell you for sure …
I have something similar too, i guess it started when i masturbated often with a soap
i am really disturbed and scared please, will it go soon
Please help
