Can gall bladder problems cause IBS if too much biles is going into bowls? I think this may be my case because if I avoid meats and anything with grease, the IBS seems to go away. My diarreha started in the day of my appendix operation and never slowed down unless I got on prednzone. They thought I had crohn's but know I suspect gall bladder since I got the back pain and diarreha get's worse when I eat things that worsen gall bladder symtoms. Too coincidental I think. The MRI showed small stones and contracted gall bladder. Plus the duct from the gall bladder is collapsed.
This is interesting.
I had my gallbladder removed at end of April due to gallstones.
Though I am a lot better than I was I still have to be careful what I eat and my GP thinks I may now have IBS. Looking at other posts here I can see that qute a few who have had gallbladder removed go on to develop IBS.
Definitely connected I would say.
You could ask GP to refer you to a consultant to have your gallbladder removed. As I say I am certainly better than I was when I had gallstones and this is liveable with.
Take care and keep in touch

Another person was saying to eat rice and a natural ingredient cuts down on ibs by binding to an ingredient in the bile. I definately noticed if I cut down on meats and most oils, my IBS slows right down. This needs more research. I think the doctors need to take the IBS problems for patients that experience IBS mosre serious and come up with natural solutions through diet. We just have to make sure we get enough protein. I am trying beens and tofu and having some success. i need to understand the vegan diet better and educate myself. At least I seem to have some control over the problem now.
Hi James, do a search on this site for bile acid malabsorption or bam for short. this will shed some light on you possible problem. read the discussions. hope this helps.
Hi mate I think you've more or less answered your own question here. Does definitely sound like your on right tracks . As another post says you can read about BAM but not sure that you need too. Incidently never heard of prednzone?
I tried prednazone and it put my diarreha into remission. Trouble is the doc said he could not continue it because it could cause medical side effects. (damage).
