hello all, I think I am going to go crazy with my health anxiety. I have recently been having a bad fear of food allergies for no real reason ( I am not allergic to anything that i know of) and I always feel like I get symptoms of food allergies whenever I eat classic "trigger" foods such as sushi (raw fish), peanuts, strawberries, etc. I dont know where this came from, but it is ruining my life. Today I had foods that I usually have on a day to day basis. I had avocado, lactase free milk, a bagel, coconut oil, hummus, green tea, popcorn, lunch meat, etc (I wont go on with my boring lunch haha) but I randomly felt the roof of my mouth TINGLE?? like a sensation that there was a hair stuck in it or something. I immediately panicked cause I thought I was going into anaphylaxis shock and would stop breathing and drop dead or have to go to the ER. One of my ears got really really red and hot and I googled all of this (big mistake) and everything pointed to a food allergy. Heres the catch: I have been having these same foods almost every single day for my entire life. Nothing is new here. Nothing has been "contaminated" with anything and i have never felt like this before when eating these foods. I think the tingling didn't even start right away, maybe after like an hour of eating. I also have been having seasonal allergies with a runny nose and itchy throat and dry eyes, so could perhaps seasonal allergies cause tingling in the roof of your mouth? its so weird! I have a new symptom or "condition" every single day so no one takes me seriously anymore. how could this be an allergy?? part of my mind wants to think my health anxiety is just scaring me and mimicking these symptoms but I am absolutely terrified because im afraid its something serious. does anxiety cause things like this?? did I develop a random food allergy overnight to something I have been eating my entire life and have ate literally 12 hours ago and was fine?? Im seeing a doctor in a few days but now im scared to even eat. Im just drinking water for dinner lol. anyone have any experiences like this? thank you! (sorry my typing is kind of frantic, my hands are shaking out of fear).
