I fell asleep after laying in bed in misery scratching and after rubbing liquid lidocaine on my sores all day. A couple hours later I woke up late for an appt and In a hurry changed my baby's diaper without washing my hands ! I have thrown up from crying so hard ! She's had a diaper rash that is clearing up, but SO pointed out a sore on her almost inner thigh and I can't help but think I've passed this to my baby ' I'm new to this ! Just clearing up from my first ob what have I done
I get cold sores and they're very contagious during the outbreak so it can be spreaded that way 😭😭im sorry hopefully it's not that but im aftaid it could be.
I'm so worried I heard it causes brain damage . I just had to leave work because I'm having a nervous breakdown I think I may have infected her prior because I thought it was my normal uti or yeast infection until recently oh my God .. I feel like I've ruined her life
Maybe try getting her tested ? .. did you have it while pregnant?
From my understanding, she would have to had come in contact with the actual sores. I'm not 100% sure, your best bet is to call your doctor and tell her/him what happened. They will most likely give you the answer your looking for.
I have no idea I've been with my SO for 7 years. Just found out last week I had an outbreak and tested pos for hsv1 genitally . But I take care of her allll day and before getting my test results or even hearing that it may be herpes I never thought it could be and never took the proper procedures to protect her so she may have caught it before I found out last week
I am deff calling and taking her in first thing in the morning I'm just physically ill right now

I understand your concern, id be terrified too. However, it would take a very large amount of virus on your fingers to infect her at all. I think the chances are very, very slim. I'm sure the bump on her thigh is from something else. There is a woman I've followed who is an expert on HSV1 and 2 and she has once told me that in her 32 years in practice and researching Herpes, she's NEVER seen a parent infect a child with HSV other than through vaginal birth while having an outbreak, and even that's rare. Never. So please try to calm down, and just get it checked out by a doctor if you're still really worried about her thigh. Don't stress, everything will be ok mama!!
