Can I stop taking Prednisolone without tapering
I have been taking 20mg per day for six days for gout but I'm expearancing bad side effects, headaches and very blurred vision
HI John, I have been taking Prednisolone since last December when I was diagnosed with what was thought to be GCA and was started on 60mg .I was seen by a consultant rheumatologist who said I did not have GCA and said I had to come off Prednisolone but had to do it slowly, at that time was on 20mg and suggested coming off them very slowly and gave me a regime to follow, 8 weeks later I am on 5mg a dayand have to see him in 3 weeks.It is not safe to come off them instantly.
It has not been easy but it has been safe.
My advise is ask your GP how to reduce you Prednisolone safely.
Hello John . My Husband had GCA and now has it again. Just out of curiosity, what did you have if it was not that.

Hi Jean, The doctors do not know yet, they think it is connected with arthritis and I am still having tests.
