Hi All I had a colonoscopy with biopsies over a year ago now and on my hospital discharge sheet it stated, in big bold letters, that I had hemorrhoids. I've had numerous other tests done to rule out anything more severe going on, and all tests have come back normal. As a result my doctor diagnosed me with IBS-A due to increased bowel churning, gurgling, bloating and bowel cramps. My IBS-A doesn't generally cause me many issues, I usually have normal regular bowel movements, but every now and again I get these quite severe bowel cramps that lead to a sudden urgency to go to the toilet and have diarrhoea. On the other end of the IBS-A scale I do get the odd bout of IBS-C (constipation), but not often at all though. At present I am in one of these IBS-C routines and finding it a lot harder to pass stools. The worrying part however, and what I am needing some advice on, is that when I do have an urge to go but struggle to pass stools, I get some drops of bright red blood from my anus before a stool has been passed. The last time I managed to go there seemed to be quite a lot of blood, although a little can seem a lot and in reality it probably wasn't a huge amount at all. This morning I had an urge to go but nothing was coming out, except some more drops of bright red blood again, this immediately gave me some anxiety and I stopped myself from passing stools. I don't have any pain or discomfort when passing stools, the only discomfort I feel is from the feeling that I need to have a bowel movement, and I'm not feeling any different in myself, no other symptoms to report. Is it possible to experience bleeding from hemorrhoids before having a bowel movement? I would be ever so grateful if any of you who has experienced similar could share their experiences with me, just to help put my mind at some sort of ease. With the current lock down our doctors surgery aren't taking appointments, so can only get a telephone consultation at best, so any information from you kind folk would be really appreciated.
