Hi, while I understand that there is no real evidence linking these devices to cancer, I still would like to ask, because I see things in the media denying its safe and I get really scared. I am a college student, ive been studying digital art and graphic design for 4 years now and I just turned 22. since then I have been working with macs, overheated laptops i put on my lap, Ipads I use to draw which I also sit up on my lap, and I have my phone by me playing music and looking up school related stuff to help with my work. I do this for school, homework, and my free time to help get some portfolio pieces in. I have a bad back (scoliosis) so once I got an ipad for my work I stopped using my desk as often because I could go anywhere and use it in my lap. Is it possible this can cause cancer, should I be worried it already has? and is there anything I can do to prevent having these devices touching me while I work? As I type this I am sitting my laptop on a pillow and that pillow is on my lap, could simple stuff like that help? Thanks in advance for the responses <3
If they did cause cancer then we would all have it as most people are glued to their phones these days. I honestly wouldn’t worry.
I understand your concern. I also am concerned about that. I know there is no definite answer on this but I feel it’s best to take some preventative measures. Sometimes these things can take years or decades to develop. The one I feel is unsafe is when people all have their cell phones plastered to their heads. There is evidence that small amounts of radiation come out cell phones. That’s why it’s best to use speakerphone or an earbud.
always have a pillow or something similar between your body and a laptop or iPad or whatever you are using. Just keep your phone away from you but within reach if you need it. anything you can do even simple things can help protect you.
When I see little kids eight 9, 10 years old with cell phones, it turns my stomach. Their brains are more susceptible to any amount of radiation. online they sell earbuds that don’t have the wire near your ear. It’s kind of like a stethoscope where it is hollow and any radiation would be unable to get to your head. The sound quality was very good.
at Your age, it’s unlikely that you would get cancer from this now, but for future it’s a good idea to start now or continue what you’ve already done. So many people are completely unaware .
this technology we have today is relatively new so we don’t really know what the long-term possibilities are. it’s great that you are aware. I wish more people were. You’re going to be OK!
