So I developed GERD after trying four different antibiotics over a course of two weeks with also steroids because my finger got an infection in it. I have lexapro from a year ago that I didn't use and heard that it could possibly help my GERD since it's worse with stress. What do you think.
Hi Mmagot, have you tried a good probiotic with live bacteria such as acidiphilus and possibly a prebiotic to help feed it? I found this helpful and as your problems got worse after being on antibiotics it might be the answer. I researched the medication you mentioned and see that it is for anxiety. If you are not keen to take it,then perhaps you could try yoga to help you reload ,even if you just use a dvd. Good luck!
I am taking a probiotic now as well. Just I read somewhere that lexapro can help with GERD. I had no idea trial and error with antibiotics could cause this. It sucks so bad. How long does something like this take to heal. It all started august 29th it was soooooo much worse then to the point where i felt like I was drowning. It got better the last couple weeks and when I went on vacation last Saturday to
Wednesday it was 80% better and I ate and drank whatever I wanted. Then when I came home it came back which makes me believe it's a lot of stressed induced also. Today after only taking one dose I fee better. Maybe it's the placebo effect but idk. I'm getting married October 29th and just want to feel better by then.
This is a bit late but I was on Lexapro briefly about 10 years ago and honestly, it didn't help with GERD at all.
