can my hsp return after 10 years?

when I was about 9, I was diagnosed with HSP. im now 19 and im starting to get symptoms again. I'm getting horrible stomach pains like I used too and im starting to get blood in my stool. I dont have a rash, but I only got the rash one time when I was younger. within the 10 years I havent had much stomach pain in the morning like when I was diagnosed and Ive also had kidney stones. Now that all the background info is out of the way, I was wondering if anyone knows if HSP symptoms can stay in your system or reoccur, and should I go to my doctor? or wait to see if any rashes appear?

yes, it is likely that it is hsp cause the cause of hsp (infections) stays in the body and can trigger hsp periodically.

However, you do not have rash. So you may also have this problem now with kidney stones. Need to get checked out with your GP.

Definitely go to the doctor to get checked out regardless.  Seems like you have the more severe type of HSP so get it treated and just because you had it before, don't assume it is the same issue.  However, yes, you can go many years and get it again or start having it again, that happened to me.   Totally unrelated I think but I also had kidney stones around age 10 but not since.  My HSP symptoms were never the severe type as you are mentioning though.  Go see an immunologist as well.  Good luck !

My daughter has HSP and had had it from 12 and is now 15. 

You should definitely go to the GP with blood in your stools it may be something else, most things with rectal bleeding are ok if caught early. My brother at aged 19 had rectal bleeding and abdominal pain he was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis but he takes medication and is fine. 

HSP can definitely re-occur but regardless go to the GP about your bleeding. It is always better to catch things early.

thank you for the quick response, Im currently at the doctors they think it may be hsp again but are still running tests. im glad to see im not the only one who has reocurring symptoms throughout years! Thank you for the advice, i wouldnt have thought about talking to an immunologist. Have a good day!
