Hi, I was wondering if anyone has noticed that their panic attacks are brought on by what they're eating? I hadn't had a panic attack in awhile but I did have one Monday night out of nowhere when trying to fall asleep. I'm married & also a mom to 3 boys ages 5, 2 & 1, so you can imagine how hectic things can be. I eat when I can and it's not the worst but definitely not the healthiest & I drink water whenever I remember to. To be honest it can be 5 pm and I'm barely taking my first sip of anything. I've noticed when my water intake is really low & I've had a lot of sweets my panic attacks/anxiety becomes more frequent. Has anyone noticed this or is it just coincidence. Also, this might be TMI but I've also noticed the week before my menstrual cycle is going to start my anxiety & panic attacks flare up, anyone else?
Yes, diet is a factor. Problem is that there is so much contradicting information. With that said, I know water, magnesium from greens, and vitamin D are essential. Everything else seems to be specific to the person. Many people find that psych drugs and supplements only make things worse.
I notice I get more heart palpitations skipped heartbeats when I eat certain foods mostly things that are yeasty like bread bagels donuts cake stuff like that. And my anxiety does flare up a week before my period and a day sometimes a day after I have started to track my anxiety and panic attacks and noticed there is a pattern. I also track what I eat and have found that triggers the palps.
Thanks for the info! I for sure know I don't drink enough water, I just get so busy that I forget to drink anything which I know is a bad excuse. Also, during the time that I was diagnosed with panic attacks they said my vitamin D was low so that would make a lot of sense .
Yup, gluten affects anxiety in many people.
I start each morning with lemon squeezed into 12 ounces of water.
