Can RA Nurse's diagnose MND?

Hi Everyone, just wondering if anyone has ever been diagnosed with MND by their RA Nurse or Consultant, I have symptoms that could be this, they are very visable, the whole of my left side is very very weak, shape of my leg is very visable kneecaps are now turning inwards and have weak ankles and fingers on my left hand. I know it's very hard to diagnose, diagnoses is not what I am after here, as that is my medical teams job. Just wondered how some of you were actually diagnosed and what your first symptoms were. I am being tested left right and centre at the moment, as I am having trouble with my swallow, with food and medication which is a worry in itself. I will be speaking with my RA team at some point today.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Did they do a nerve conduction study, electromyography, or  genetic testing. A nerve conduction study can test the function of electrical signals in your legs and arms. Some symptoms are rather similar to CMT.

Thank you Derek

No it' a fairly new episode thats started the last few weeks now. I have DiGeorge Syndrome, but this isn't down to that. I have made an appointment to see my gp next Monday, hopefully he will be able to sort me out lol.

CMT is a diagnosis some neurologists hand out when they have no other names left in their box.

Like you my symptoms started quite suddenly. It took time to realise they had started after I had been prescribed fluoroquinolones and worsened for a time after being prescribed Bisoprolol until I stopped it. Another antibiotic Clarithromycin also worsened my condition when taking it.

Were you ever prescribed fluoroquinolones as DiGeorge Syndrome causes frequent infections ?
