Can someone please help me with this

Ok so I posted this before but I'm having chest pains on my right side and I noticed whenever I test my blood pressure it's a little above 120/80 (120/80 is normal so it's a little above normal) I went to the ER and they did an EKG and blood test and had me on a heart rate monitor and everything was normal...please what is this I can't sleep is it just my anxiety?

Yes, as everything else appears to be normal I feel that it could be an anxiety attack..

It's been happening on and off all day yesterday into this morning. Usually when I burned it went away. Now when I burp it,goes away but then it comes back,to,that same pain. So,can the trapped wind make my,blood pressure go,up slightly? Slightly meaning 125/85 instead of being below 120/80

It's the fear you have surrounding the pain that is raising your blood pressure slightly. If you've been checked in hospital, you have to trust the doctor's diagnosis! Anxiety is your mind playing tricks on you and making you hypersensitive! Xx

Anxiety/stress can cause high blood pressure sweetie I can't stress that enough! Mine has been a bit higher than normal when I'm stressed and been to the doctors. Blood pressure can also fluctuate throughout the the day. I have had chest pains ( right side), when you think about it your not so silly brain directs tension, gas etc to that area! I bet your right side shoulders/nerves are tense when you are worried about it! It is AMAZING what stress can do. I bet you've even had pins n needles/numbness. You are fine and would no about it if you weren't. It would be EXTREMLY rare for doctors not pick up something that was going to seriously harm you

It can cause it even when you don't think your stressed! Your body is tensing without you realising! You are nervous are you not?? You will be TENSE! And if you were to tense your leg for say 3 hours you would have some discomfort!

Its anxiety. I have had the same thing happen many times. Its gonna be ok. Just keep calm

Yes it's just your anxiety, it can mimicking loads of ailments, I know it's hard, but try to relax, read a book, watch TV or go for a walk.

And try to do some breathing tecniques that might help.

And definately go to see your gp, good luck

Shar, Please see my answer to your previous post. In addition to what I posted there, anxiety definitely increases the symptoms.

If you've had all the tests and they are good I think it most probably is anxiety . See some of my other posts on dealing with these symptoms. Firstly work out what is making you feel this way. It's hard sometimes to point the finger. There will b a trigger it's just working out what and the next step is how to deal with it. Hope you find a solution if not go bk to GP and discuss how Ur feeling and where to go from there.

Our blood pressure fluctuates all the time, and can increase if we are under stress.

It could well be an acid reaction in your tummy that is causing you stress, thereby increasing your BP slightly.

Anxiety can be the cause of or symptomatic of occasional acid conditions within your tummy.

Have you tried taking an antacid tablet to see if that eases the problem?

Certainly 120/85 is not a problem by any stretch of the imagination.

When should I go see my primary care? I saw her yesterday around 1pm and I told her about the pains and she said that its my anxiety. But the pain got worse yesterday night which is why I went to the er. It eased off this morning but right now it's bad. I'm trying to stay calm but it hurts so bad. I have an appointment with her next week Thursday, should I wait until then?

Now I have another question for you guys. Could it be anything to do with my lungs? I'm not coughing, wheezing or anything...I'm just so afraid they missed something. Btw when I went to the er they did not do any xtrays or MRI or CT scan.

My doctor prescribed me Flamodine(I think that's how it's spelled) for heartburn. I haven't been experiencing heartburn recently its just this pain in my chest and the constant burping that's scaring me.

I know everyone is saying it's anxiety, but it's weird at how anxiety can cause this much pain constantly throughout the day. I can deal with the pain anywhere else but not my chest, it's too frightening. (And head for that matter)

I am leaning towards your problem being gastro-oesophageal reflux disease caused by a possible hiatus hernia.

In your place I would return to my doctor and ask whether this could possibly be causing the problem.

If it is, then certain lifestyle changes could improve things for you.

Stop looking for something wrong. If u are truly worried see your GP . Anxiety is a mean thing it can make you paranoid which I think you are. Concentrate on slow deep breaths and go do something to take your mind off your worries. I'm sure if needed they would have done the MRI ect at ER.
