I have having some serious pain in my left side rib which radiates around to my back.
I know its not my kidneys or bladder as I have had the following tests due to due microscopic blood in my urine:
CT Scan
Ultrasound
Intraveous Urogram
Cystoscope
The pain is on a scale of 7 now and I'm finding it hard to concentrate and sleep.
PLEASE can someone shed some light???
Check for nutcracker of left renal vein please.
If you are slim, try to gain some weight as a conservative measure.
Next one is 100mg Aspirin for months.
All other solutions are highly invasive and only if no quality of life due to it.
You might want to join a nutcracker forum and compare your symptoms and imaging and then go from there if experienced docs needed.
You had a CT scan, but not a certain vascular one I guess.
But you can look through existing pics to see, if nutcracker was visible there. Radiologist often does not mention as a ratio 1:4 (of squeeze to dilated left renal vein) is seen as enough open, if doc didn't indicate to look for it.
A normal CT is great, but doesn't mean everything "fine print" was checked.
Good luck!
Thank you for your reply and will certainly be mentioning that option when I next see my GP.
Last urine sample showed microscopic blood and protein.
I am of a slim and petite build - 5ft and 7 stone!!!
Have you had an endoscopy to check for gastritis which can cause rib cage pain? Costochondritis can also cause this along with back pain.
