Can't catch a break!!

The physical symptoms of anxiety are really taking their toll. 2 months ago it was breathlessness, then heart palps, then chest pain, then muscle weakness, then fatigue, and now tremors and muscle twitching! The tremors wake me up at night and scare me to death. Every day I go through the same exact thing where I convince myself that I have a neurological condition. Then I realize it's all in my head. It's so terrifying though. I'm seeing a therapist who just told me she doesn't believe in medication for anxiety disorders so now o have to find a new one. Meanwhile, i can't even get through the day and I'm sleeping maybe 3 or 4 hours a night. I'm so tired my eyes hurt and they're extremely dry. Because they're so dry I've been getting blurry vision especially when I use my phone or computer and I know it's dry eye because I have had it forever, but I keep convincing myself it's another sign of a neuro condition. At this point I really need to be medicated. Considering going to the ER but I know that the hospitals by me aren't really known for treating people with mental illness corectly or nicely. I'm not really looking for advice since I know what needs to be done im just getting so depressed over this and needed to rant sad

I feel you!!

Hang in there. You know what to do as you said, time to go for it now

Hello Mandy

I do not know if you are in the UK or somewhere else. All I can say sometimes medications can cause contraindications that may cause problems in some anxious patients, these can last for about four or five weeks and may be counterproductive, possibly some CBT type sessions may be a better idea.

Of course I am no medic or Doctor etc.

You say you have dry eye, all I will suggest eye drops.

Sometimes medications are not given I would accept that, You can of course ask for a second opinion to put your mind at rest.

One thing that can help anxiety is Relaxation Techniques, the one they prefer these days is MINDFULNESS, your GP may be able to arrange a course or you may be able to get a book explaining the technique to you. I use several earlier techniques and it  really does work
