Can't cope

My severe anxiety has made me constantly emotional and I haven't slept for 4 consecutive nights now. I suspended my university studies today yo focus on my health and I've just been told my kitty that I've had all my life has just been put down making me even more upset which has now brought on heart palpitations. How do I end this viscous cycle?

Hi Weeasy.  Sorry your going through a bad time at the moment.

Try and think positive. Think of the good things going on in your life and focus on those.  Try not to worry on things you cant control.  Worry about things you can and then make a difference to those things!

Keep positive and you will get through this and come out stronger!

Hey Weeasy, you're right, it's a viscous cycle and you need to break it somehow... a friend maybe or a family member who will listen to your problems?

Hope you feel better able to cope soon.

Hang in the sweetie.. I have health anxiety and its awful but we can get thru this.. Do some breathing and try to relax.. Pray it does help.. If you need to chat feel free to message me.. Xxx

To loose your dear cat or whatever animal that simply gave you unconditional love and was always there for you.  Who always thought you were the most beautiful thing he/she'd ever seen...  Giving you a sort of hug that said eveything when the whole world was just treating you like you wern't worth anything... Yes it hurts and it cuts you to the quick.

If it helps please remind yourself that you're a good, kind person and the rest of us so need you in this sometimes so frightening world.

Lovely sensitive person, we need you to stay strong.  Good luck

Hi Weeasy,

Very sorry to hear you're going through a tough time. And also very sorry for the response you got above, this should be a safe place.

You have done everything right this far. Suspending you studies to focus on your health was a very wise (and brave) decision and you should be very proud of yourself for that. Given the strength you have shown so far I have no doubt whatsoever that you will get through this in time.

I also suffer from bouts of insomnia from time to time, you're right - it is a vicious circle. Exercise often helps I find, tire the body and the mind will follow sort of thing. Often all you need is one night's good sleep and you've broken the cycle just like that. Talking to someone you trust is also excellent I find. Get all those negative thoughts in your head out in the open and they soon lose their power over you and let you back to sleeping soundly.

I hope some of this helps. If you need to chat or anything feel free to drop me a message.

Mark.

So sorry. I try to drink chamomile yeaa and be around people that cheer me up. Although we hate to admit it and it is not that easy I know that positive thoughts also help. Sadly, for me these symptoms come and go for me sad
