Can't win either way

Hi.

I have a bit of a problem.

I suffer from depression, social phobia, agrophobia, terrible memory, heart disease, AF, Ectopic heart beats, one blocked artery, one partily blocked artery (they are to small to be stented), the cardiologist said I needed a double bypass as my condition was very serious but he wouldnt do it as I have COPD, I also have a AAA, High blood pressure, high cholesterol (both controld) The cardiologist put me on rivoraxaban which I wasn't to happy about as there is no antidote in the case of a major bleed.

I went to see the physc doc last week, we argued over my meds he wants me to drop my sertraline down to 100mg and up my Mirtazapine to 30mg. I am feeling fine on sert 150mg and 15mg of Mirtazapine. So I refused to change. I had to put it in writing that I wanted to stay on this Californian rocket fuel. Then he told me I need to get out of the house and go for a daily walk, even if its just around the block. I agreed with this. The next day I went out for a walk. This was very bad I only walked about 20 meters and was gasping for breath, I stopped till I got my breath back and tried again I managed 5 meters and again I was gasping for breath. So I went home.

If you are doing good on the doses that you are taking now there is no need to change them. Maybe you need to change doctor and get a second opinion.

Thank you for your reply Angelo.

Yes, I feel better now on this combo than I have ever been.

Regards Heartbleed

Hi I never get why doctors keep wanting to change things when they are fine.  My attitude is if if ain't broke don't fix it!

I am surprised that your doctor refused you anesthetic because of your copd.  Are you severe or very severe?  Have you been to a PR group?  If not then ask to be referred. You will learn exercises there suitable for copders.  It is easy to do very little as copd is extremely tiring (I have it too) but you have to work through the pain to get yourself a bit fitter.  The fitter you are the less oxygen you will  need for movement and the more you will have for breathing.  Not easy but essential. x
