Can you exhale forcefully for a whole 6 seconds?

So I'm thinking of getting a full health check done as I have not been feeling well for the past 6-7 weeks. Started with a fever and it felt like my body was fighting an infection for the 5-6 weeks. Only now I'm feeling slightly better but still feel breathless after simple exercises and sometimes I wake up at night breathing fast. One of the test is the FEV6 test, in which you blow out forcefully for 6 seconds. I tried this and I can't make it past the 3-4 second mark. Can you try this and let me know how you go? See if you can blow out forcefully for 6 seconds straight. Many thanks

10 sec for me. Fully out. Check your lungs xray or ct.

How hard are you blowing out? Are you blowing out as hard as you can?

If I do it normally I can also do it for 10 seconds, buy not when I’m blowing as hard as I could.

Yes i blow as hard as i can.

When I’m not anxious sure no problem, but when I’m in an anxious state it’s just not possible.

did the doctor check you for COVID ? how about pnemonia ? i am willing to bet you have fluid in your lungs. this would definitely cause you to not feel well for the duration you are talking about. i did that blow test a few years ago and come to find out, i had a collapsed lung. but i would start eliminating ailments first. chest x-ray may help.

do a chest xray.

Well I went to an isolation center today to get another check up. I was reluctant to go as I was afraid I’ll pick up some other infection (or even Covid-19 itself), but it was not too bad as it was quite large and open with very few people.

They checked my pulse, BP, oxygen, and lungs and found nothing wrong. They did a CRP test and it showed that I have neither a virus nor a bacterial infaction.

The CRP test I did 6-7 weeks ago showed a viral infection, which means it is gone now.

Listening to my symptoms the doctors thinks it’s somewhat likely I did have the Coronavirus, but it is no longer there and I’m feeling the “after effects”, mainly fatigue.

So both times the doctors found nothing wrong with my lungs (6 weeks ago and now). I asked both doctors about possibility about fluid in my lungs and they did not think it was possible

Then its ok, you must do breathing techniques.

congrats on surviving, must have been a hellish experience for you. you do inspire me and others though. hope you feel better, and you should be patting yourself on the back for being so strong to go through everything the way you did. my hats off to you
