I started suffering from dry itchy eyes in 2007 and was diagnosed homozygote H63D in 2016 so I would say that yes, possibly there is a link.

There is a link to macular degeneration with very high levels of iron not being treated. Just about everyone gets dry eyes from different reasons, and my optomologist will attest to that.

Google “dry eyes and iron overload”. It is a good way to find out if there is a link to anything.

I have also been having dry eye and various vision problems for quite a few years and I am convinced that it is connected to the HH. I wondered if anyone else suffered with eye problems along with having HH so thanks for putting this post out there!

Hi, yes i was suffering very dry eyes, once i got my levels down it seemed to be much better.

I get the opposite problem, i get very stingy oily eyes and have to wash them out regulary
